We have a range of classes for all abilities, so if you’ve never done anything like this before or you have a “crafty” background – you are very welcome to join us! We have small groups so that we can work within everyone’s own abilities, so don’t worry if you think you’re “not creative”, I’m here to support you and guide you through the process (and make cups of tea) – you’ll be feeling like an alchemist in no time!

Silver Jewellery with Metal Clay – Part 1: Intro (Pendant or Earrings)

In this class you’ll have a basic introduction to the material, tools and processes, followed by some time to practice and finalise your design before getting started on “the real thing”. Once you have created your piece it will be fired in a kiln – turning it from a dull grey putty into PURE SILVER!

Silver Jewellery with Metal Clay – Part 2: Band Ring

This class is a little more intensive than my part 1 class, and is great if you want to develop your skills a bit further. We will be learning about measuring for our designs, shrink rates, adding feature stones and handling a 3D piece. You will have time to design your ring , choosing between a band with silver details or a ring with a central focal point (Cubic zirconia or glass gemstone)

Silver Jewellery with Metal Clay – Part 3: Capturing Nature

On this class we will be exploring ways in which we can use metal clay to create and capture delicate natural pieces such as leaves, flowers and seed pods. The class will include using two types of metal clay, choosing what techniques will work best with which materials and a little bit of mould making.

You will produce a few pieces which we can turn into jewellery items or leave as pretty keepsakes to treasure
